WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 19, 2023–Jamaica’s national anthem was played Sunday for the first time in the history of the Global Dressage Festival when Eva Levy rode Drisdal’s Co-Co Chanel to victory in the CDIY Young Rider’s Freestyle.
Eva, who celebrated her 17th birthday five days earlier, scored 69.667% for the win on the 14-year-old Danish Warmblood mare.
Based in Miami Eva is coached by Kelly Layne, an Australian Olympian living in Wellington.
She competed in the 2022 North American Junior Riders Championships and has this year’s Young Rider championships as her goal.
Global, the dressage division of Wellington International that began in 2012, is the major center of the sport in all of the Americas with 12 weeks of competitions that draws riders from around the world.
