The educational course included the FEI Dressage rules, regulations and the steward’s roles and responsibilities at international dressage competitions. The steward’s role at an equestrian show event is to ensure the safety of riders and the welfare of the horses. They assist with ensuring that the right equipment is used and all safety measurements are in place.

The course was held by FEI officials Monica Gomez Su, who has made a remarkable career including being the Jumping Chief Steward at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 and the CEA president Heidi Mello. Together they mentored a group of riders from Cayman, Bermuda and Jamaica leading them to a successful exam.
